Hundreds turned up yesterday to the “Run for Climate 2025” at Albert Park in Suva.

The “Run for Climate” is a community fun run organised by the Delegation of the European Union to the Pacific and German Embassy in Suva in partnership with the Suva Marathon Club and the Alliance for Future Generations Fiji to raise awareness and support for climate action and resilience in the Pacific.

Speaking during the event, ambassador of the European Union to the Pacific, Barbara Plinkert, said the event coincided with EU’s Green Diplomacy Weeks.

“European Union stands side by side with the Pacific nations in building climate resilience and sustainable development,” she said.

“Surrounded by your energy and enthusiasm, I am reminded of how far we have come and how much further we can go, if we run or walk together to the Suva foreshore, to Belém, and beyond.”
