THE FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels portfolio, which includes InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel, and Holiday Inn Suva, has raised $15,000 during its November ‘Movember’ campaign. In a statement, the hotel group said the funds will support Lifeline Fiji, whose work in suicide prevention and mental health advocacy continues to play a vital role across the country.
“This year’s campaign brought colleagues and guests together through a series of light-hearted yet purposeful activities designed to encourage conversation around men’s health,” it stated.
Teams across all three hotels participated in initiatives such as ‘Fake Moustaches’ and the ‘Reverse Movember Beard-to-Moustache Challenge’, which invited colleagues to grow, shape and showcase facial hair with the intention of sparking dialogue and reducing stigma.
Guest-facing experiences including themed cocktails, spa experiences, dessert sales and ‘Cup of Kindness’ coffee sales further complemented the internal activities and gave guests an opportunity to contribute to a cause with significant relevance in Fiji.
“At IHG Hotels & Resorts, we want our people to work in an environment where they feel supported and able to speak up about their wellbeing,” IHG Hotels & Resorts regional general manager Fiji and Pacific Lachlan Walker said.
“Movember is a reminder of how important these conversations are, and I am grateful to our teams for embracing this with such heart.
“Their commitment shows what a caring workplace looks like in practice, and it encourages all of us to keep checking in with one another and to seek help when we need it.
“This commitment is reinforced with our recent achievement of Global Great Place to Work® Accreditation for 2025,” Mr Walker added.
The continued partnership with Lifeline Fiji strengthened the educational component of the campaign.
The organisation provides a 24-hour crisis helpline, counselling services, and community-based resilience programmes.
Their involvement ensured that colleagues and guests had access to credible information and practical support, particularly in relation to mental wellbeing and help-seeking behaviours.
