FIJI Bitter Nawaka Oldies 7s team defeated Suva President 12-5 to win the 27th Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s Oldies title at Prince Charles Park yesterday.
Laced with former rugby reps such as Apenisa Naevo, Viliame Satala, Manueli Tiko, Esala Labalaba and Lalai Driu to name a few, the side produced breathtaking rugby skills to defeat Semisi Naevo’s Suva team.
The rivalry from these former reps kept the spectators on the edge of their seats especially the competition between the Naevo brothers (Apenisa and Semisi) in the forwards.
Nawaka scored the first try through Tiko before Suva replied at the later stages of the first spell.
Satala then displayed his strength when he powered through three defenders before feeding Driu for the match winner.
Former national 7s rep Lemeki Koroi tried his best to help Suva win the game but the tough defence of the host team deny them the title.
