THE TISI Sangam Centennial year has been marked by a series of deeply meaningful and historic events across Fiji, says TISI national president Parveen Kumar.

“Among the most significant has been the establishment of a replica temple at the original site of the Nadi Siva Subramanyan Temple, where Sangam was founded on May 24, 1926,” he said.

“This site is a place of profound shared history.

“For nearly 80 years it has stood as a space of spiritual and cultural significance deeply connected to the Vanua of Nadi, reflecting a legacy of mutual respect.”

Mr Kumar said the centennial celebrations included prayers, cultural performances and community gatherings.

“They are held at both the original site and the new Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple — the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere — representing continuity between past and present,” he added.

The TISI Sangam celebration kicked-off at Prince Charles Park in Nadi, bringing more than 1000 members from Fiji and overseas for the three-day event.
