Hockey teams reminded of the significance of unity

The Fiji Hockey men and women’s teams visited the State House to present their itatau to President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere yesterday ahead of the 2024 FIH Hockey5 World Cup in Oman.

During the event, the President praised the teams for their dedication to representing Fiji in international tournaments and emphasised the significance of unity as they sought blessings for their journey.

He conveyed his best wishes for the tournament and invoked God’s blessings upon the teams and their families.

Women’s Coach Hector Smith, speaking on behalf of both teams, expressed gratitude to the President for his unwavering commitment and support.

It was also announced that both the Fiji Men’s and Women’s hockey teams have successfully secured a spot in the 2024 FIH Hockey World Cup in Oman, where 16 teams will compete in both the men’s and women’s categories from the 24th to the 31st of this month.
