‘We do need more hotel rooms in order to cater for the growing tourism industry’.
This according to Cove Management Limited director Mark Hinton.
Tourism Minister Viliame Gavoka had highlighted earlier that there was a need to build 4000 hotel rooms to cater to the demands.
While speaking on the construction of a new 101-room hotel named as ‘Days Inn by Wyndham Nadi, Martintar’ that would be completed in mid-2026, he said their company Cove Management has signed to manage the hotel on behalf of the project owners- Public Service Association Investment Company Pte Ltd (PSAICFPL).
“The building will take approximately 18 months to complete, and we are looking forward to working as hotel managers,” Mr Hinton said.
“Our company Cove Management has signed to manage the hotel and we are looking at doing a professional job, so that everyone’s goal is achieved.”
Mr Hinton said Days Inn will finish with 101 rooms, and added there was still a need for more development in the hotel sector.
“I believe the airline sector can cater for more passengers, so we do need more rooms.
“We have the Wyndham Garden, just down the road opening in September this year which has 90 hotel rooms.”
He said Wyndham Garden was owned by a Chinese Development company.
“We have signed a management contract with the owners and will commence operations over there when it is finished.”
He said they are looking to open the Wyndham Garden hotel in September this year.
