Hundreds of Hindu devotees came together at the Sri Raj Maha Mariamman Temple at Howell Rd in Suva on Sunday to participate in their annual firewalking pooja.
This significant spiritual event marked the 99th consecutive year of the firewalking ceremony being held at the temple, underscoring its deep-rooted cultural and religious importance.
Leading the congregation through this devotional act was Prakash Sivam, the head priest of the temple, who guided the faithful as they courageously walked barefoot over glowing hot embers in a display of faith, tradition, and communal solidarity.
