High Commissioner Jagnath Sami, Fiji’s newly appointed envoy to Sri Lanka, formally presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
This marks a significant moment in the diplomatic relations between Fiji and Sri Lanka, with High Commissioner Sami becoming the second Fijian High Commissioner resident in New Delhi to be accredited to Sri Lanka.
The presentation to President Dissanayake followed, symbolizing the official commencement of his duties as Fiji’s representative to Sri Lanka.
Following the credential presentation, High Commissioner Sami held a meeting with the Sri Lankan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, Hon. Vijitha Herath, to discuss matters of mutual interest and strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations.
