A severe thunderstorm warning with heavy rainfall is now in force for the Western half of Viti Levu.
This is an area from Rakiraki through to Sigatoka, and the interior parts.
Fiji Meteorological Service is advising people keep clear of flooded creeks and drains and also not to walk, ride bike or drive through flood water.
The weather office is urging citizens to unplug computers and appliances and stay indoors away from windows.
Children and pets are also to be kept indoors, states Fiji Met.
The warning is valid until 9pm tonight.
