A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers continues to affect the northern and eastern parts of Fiji.
According to the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi, occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls are expected over the Northern Division — including Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Cikobia, and Qelelevu — as well as the interior and eastern parts of Viti Levu from Serua-Namosi through Navua-Suva-Nausori up to Tailevu North. The Kadavu, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups will also experience similar conditions.
Forecasters warn that isolated heavy falls may cause flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
Elsewhere across the group, weather conditions are expected to remain generally fine apart from possible isolated afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms.
The outlook for Sunday is for occasional showers with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms over the interior and eastern parts of Viti Levu, southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, Kadavu, and the Lau and Lomaiviti groups.
