A heavy rain alert remains in force for the whole of the Fiji group, with residents urged to remain vigilant as unsettled weather conditions persist.

According to the Fiji Meteorological Service, a shallow low-pressure system is slow moving near Kadavu and is expected to drift across the southern parts of the country over the next couple of days.

The system is embedded along a trough of low pressure that continues to affect Fiji, bringing widespread cloud and rain.

Meanwhile, Tropical Depression TD03F remains slow moving to the far northwest of Fiji, near Vanuatu.

There will be occasional rain, heavy at times, with a few thunderstorms over most places.

Persistent heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding in low-lying areas.

The outlook for Tuesday is for occasional rain, heavy at times, with a few thunderstorms continuing over most places.

The risk of flash flooding remains due to persistent heavy falls.
