Associated cloud cover, rain and thunderstorms are forecast to affect Fiji over the next few days.

For the whole of Fiji, forecasters are predicting occasional rain, heavy at times, accompanied by a few thunderstorms.

Significant rainfall has already been recorded across several areas in the past 24 hours, from 6pm Saturday to 6pm Sunday.

Tubenasolo recorded the highest rainfall at 94.5 millimetres, followed by Nanoko with 80.0mm, Dreketilailai with 76.5mm, and Wairkicake with 74.0mm.

Authorities are warning of possible impacts including flash flooding in flood-prone and low-lying informal settlements, businesses and Irish crossings, which could lead to traffic disruptions.

Surface flooding is also likely in urban areas with poor drainage, while wet roads and reduced visibility during heavy downpours may increase the risk of road accidents.
