The Fiji Meteorological Service has issued a heavy rain alert for the entire country, warning of potential flash flooding and hazardous weather conditions over the coming days.
According to Fiji Met, an active trough of low pressure is expected to approach Fiji from the west starting tomorrow, bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms.
The forecast indicates occasional rain, heavy at times, with thunderstorms likely to develop from the west and spread across the group.
The Met Office warns that localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low-lying areas, minor roads, Irish crossings, and bridges.
Communities are being urged to remain vigilant, especially those in flood-prone and low-lying areas.
There is also a warning for poor visibility both on land and at sea, increasing the risk of motor vehicle accidents due to slippery roads.
