The heavy rain alert that had been in force for the whole of Viti Levu, the Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, as well as the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, has now been officially cancelled.
According to the Fiji Meteorological Service, the trough of low pressure that had been lingering over the country is slowly drifting eastwards.
Associated cloud and showers are still expected to affect parts of the country until later today.
Conditions are forecast to gradually improve, particularly in the western areas.
