A heavy rain alert remains in force for the entire Fiji group, while a strong wind warning continues for several land areas as Tropical Disturbance TD07F influences weather conditions across the country.
According to the latest update, Tropical Disturbance TD07F is located just east of northern Vanuatu.
The system is expected to move south-southeast between Vanuatu and Fiji over the next few days, bringing periods of heavy rain and strong winds over the group from later today.
For the remainder of tonight, moderate to fresh east to northeast winds are expected.
However, northwest winds of up to 55km/hr with gusts reaching 85km/hr are forecast to develop later today over several areas.
These include the Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, coastal areas from Sanasana to Momi, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki, the interior of Nadroga, Nadi, Ba and Ra, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, as well as the coastal and interior areas of Bua, Lekutu, Dreketi, Seaqaqa, Labasa, Nadogo and from Namuka to Udu Point.
Seas are currently moderate to rough but are expected to become rough to very rough from later today.
Members of the public, especially those in low-lying and flood-prone areas, mariners, and those living in warned regions, are advised to take necessary precautions and closely monitor updates from the Fiji Meteorological Service.
