The Ministry of Health says Health Inspectors in the Central Division carried out a follow-up inspection today at Nasinu Secondary School after the school was directed to address health and safety concerns in its boarding facilities.

The inspection followed notices issued on the last day of school in 2025, with the school given seven weeks to complete corrective works.

Inspectors noted with satisfaction that significant improvements have been made.

The Ministry said the first two boys’ dormitory buildings have been fully repaired, thoroughly cleaned and declared ready for student occupancy, with all required facilities replaced and functioning.

Repair works are still ongoing at the third dormitory building and the dining hall. School management has indicated the remaining work is expected to be completed before boarding students return on Tuesday.

The Ministry confirmed that health inspectors will continue to monitor the situation and will re-inspect the school canteen and WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) facilities once the school reopens, to ensure sustained compliance with health standards.
