A woman in her 40s and mother-of-six tragically died in a three-vehicle collision along Kings Road near Viwa, Korovou in Tailevu yesterday morning.
Police confirmed the accident occurred when a student in his 20s, attempting to overtake another car, collided head-on with the vehicle carrying the victim, Inise Karawa, triggering a chain reaction that involved a third vehicle.
Despite efforts to save her, the victim succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Six others, including the drivers, were initially taken to Korovou Hospital but have since been transferred to CWM Hospital for further treatment and are currently admitted.
Police have confirmed that the driver responsible for the crash has yet to be charged, and investigations continue.
