Nakaugasele native on Kadavu Jonathan Matiavi aims to make an impact at Ratu Kadavulevu School in Tailevu by addressing the issue of bullying after he was inducted as head boy yesterday.
He said leading close to 800 students would not be an easy task.
He said he never dreamt that one day he would be appointed to this prestigious role.
“I will do everything I can to uplift the name of school in my role as head boy,” the aspiring doctor said.
“We are taught to follow orders so as the head boy I will ensure that this will not be used by other students to inflict bully on the weaker ones.”
His mum Raijeli Matiavi said she received a call from her son last Tuesday at around 11pm that he would be appointed as head boy.
“God’s favour is upon my son and this appointment was from Him,” she said.
“I’ve always taught him to remain humble, work hard in silence and just wait for God to lift you up.”
