FRESH Choice supermarket, owned by P Meghji Group, opened its fifth branch at Namaka in Nadi this week, expanding supermarket choice for Nadi residents.

P Meghji Group general manager Eremasi Matanitabu said 50 full-time staff and some part-time employees would be stationed at the new branch.

“We’ve got the liquor shop, our café and we also have a fully-fledged butcher plus a supermarket there,” he said.

“We’ve also got a bakery which is actually in Lautoka, in our Fresh Choice Lautoka. So the bakery in Lautoka normally supplies bread to our supermarket here and also in Denarau.”

Mr Matanitabu said the total investment in this particular branch and current stock on hand at the moment is worth $3.5million.

“We’ve got one shop in Denarau, which is the first one, then the second one we opened up in Garden City.

“Then there’s Lautoka, Namadi, and Savusavu, and this is our fifth shop for Fresh Choice Supermarket.”

Mr Matanitabu said the supermarket’s Martintar branch is a liquor shop and part of the P Meghji Group.

“The group of companies has P Meghji Trading Ltd, and also Fresh Choice, another subsidiary company.

“For the liquor shops, we have Lautoka, Namaka, there’s one in Domain, Nasese and there’s also one in Suva.”

Mr Matanitabu said for over three decades, P Meghji has been a leading supplier, notably of wine and liquor, to the hotel and resort sector.
