Farmers, their kinsman and women of Kavala, in Kadavu, gathered last week for the official opening of the Grow Plus greenhouse, a project aimed at boosting sustainable agriculture and livelihoods.

Implemented through British American Tobacco Fiji’s Grow Plus program, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, the facility will provide farmers with quality vegetable seedlings, including eggplant, chilli and tomato varieties.

The greenhouse offers a controlled growing environment to protect seedlings from pests and disease, supporting consistent production throughout the year.

Launched last Friday, the initiative aims to empower rural farmers, create alternative income opportunities and reduce reliance on produce from other communities.
