A 52 year wait has ended for Robert Pearson Miller after Government handed over a piece of State land to him.
In February 1971, his late parents had given a portion of their land for the construction of the Suva-Nadi (Queens) Highway.
In exchange, the Millers were promised state land of equal size adjacent to their remaining property in Nuku, Serua.
Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Filimoni Vosarogo, handed over State Grant No. 1592 to Mr Miller, bringing closure to the land acquisition matter.
“This is a very special and historic moment for our family,” said Mr. Miller, who now resides on Kaibu Island near Yacata in the Lau Group.
“I want to sincerely thank the Honourable Minister and the Ministry staff for seeing this through. Your efforts mean a great deal to me and my family.”
