FOR the first-time ever, five government ministries were announced as winners in the different categories of the 26th Fiji Business Excellence Awards (FBEA) 2025 held in Nadi last Saturday.

The event highlights the dedication and success of individuals and organisations that exemplify business excellence, bringing together leaders from government, academia and the private sector.

Chief guest acting President and Chief Justice Salesi Temo said the FBEA 2025 was a testament to the resilience, vision and dedication of the nation’s businesses.

“From small enterprises to large organisations, all of whom contribute meaningfully to our economic strength and social well-being. Tonight, we recognise not only success in business but also a deeper commitment to quality, sustainability, continuous improvement and values that are essential to Fiji’s progress in an ever-evolving global landscape,” Justice Temo said.

“As Fiji charts its course towards sustainable development and inclusive growth, guided by the National Development Plan and the Vision for a Prosperous Fiji, our strategic direction is clear: to build a resilient economy that harnesses innovation, nurtures talent and ensures opportunities for all.”

Justice Temo said the private sector, alongside government and civil society, played a pivotal role in turning this vision into reality.

“It is within this context that the Fiji Business Excellence Awards hold great significance. These awards recognise those who not only excel in their fields but also contribute to our broader national aspirations.” He said the private sector was not merely an engine of economic activity but the cornerstone of national development.

“Through innovation, ethical leadership and commitment to sustainable practices, businesses help create jobs, reduce inequalities and drive solutions that uplifts communities.”

Justice Temo commended the five government ministries’ participation at this year’s FBEA.
