People in the Central Division gathered in numbers at various vaccination centres yesterday to get their COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccine.
Civil servants from various sectors were also seen helping the Ministry of Health and Medical Services officials.
The queue at the Seventh Day Adventist Church Hall in Cunningham, Stage 4, included Fiji National University student Torika Botebotelawa.
The 19-year-old said she was “looking forward to getting vaccinated”.
Another tertiary student, Ashneel Chand, 21, said he came with four cousins to get their jabs.
A good turnout was also seen at the Leeds Centre, Laucala Beach, Suva. At this centre, some senior citizens were in the line.
Ben Mati, 77, from Nadera was assisted by her daughter-in-law Sanjana Devi.
Similarly, Deo Mati, 74, also got her dose of COVID-19 vaccine with the help of her daughter-in-law Saleshni Devi.
The Ministry of Health and Medical Services stated COVID-19 vaccines would be made available to all eligible individuals in Fiji.
People who are homebound because of illness or old age and cannot go to the vaccination site, would be vaccinated at home.
