THE Fiji Golf Club was happy with how it performed in the 2016 season.
Club captain Vidhya Lakhan said despite Tropical Cyclone Winston they managed to go through 2016.
“Fiji Golf Club had a wonderful year of golf in 2016, despite the visit of Cyclone Winston early in the year and the damage caused to the golf course,” he said.
“We regrouped and weekly competitions got underway within two weeks.”
The club also introduced a few new competitions this year.
“Two new features introduced during the year was the My Club Day and the Presidents Ball,” he added.
“My Club Day launched the 2016 season and proved to be one of the most successful events organised by the club to raise funds for itself. The Presidents Ball, also a fundraising event organised later in the year, was reasonably successful. It is anticipated these two events will become a regular occurrence on the club’s calendar.
“Apart from club competitions the Fiji Golf Club was also the venue for a number of events and the venue for many fundraising events for different charities.”
