NESTLED among the manicured lawns and strategically planted trees in Vatuwaqa, Suva, the Fiji Golf Club has written a new chapter into the digital era with the launch of its new website.

The website will be a virtual meeting point where users can view daily events, membership information, course details and facilities, including its 18-hole course, caddies, pro shop and dining options.

Club president Mahendran Nair welcomed the website as a form of preserving the club’s rich history.

“The club has a long and proud history, and this gives us a way to ensure those records are not lost, but shared with members, the community and future generations,” Nair said.

Much of the club’s footprint prior to its digital expansion stemmed from word of mouth, newspaper articles and timely updates on messaging apps and on email.

However, with the new platform, club manager Rizwan Ali said the site had improved communication and engagement.

“It gives us a single place to share updates, events and information with our members and it has made it easier for people to stay connected with what is happening at the club,” Ali said.

The club was established in 1908 and is recognised as the oldest-operating golf club in the Pacific and its website has included historical records such as club champions and notable achievements such as hole in one records, that ensure the club’s legacy remains accessible.
