RAR Logistic Lami FC goalkeeper Sahil Naresh was the hero in yesterday’s semi-final, saving two penalties with his legs to help his side beat Dreketi FC 6–5 in a dramatic shootout and book a place in the Senior Division final of the 2025 FMF Inter District Championship.

The match ended 2–2 after full-time before Naresh’s brilliant saves sealed the win for Lami.

“It’s a proud moment for me,” said Naresh, who has been playing as a goalkeeper since childhood.

“I thank the boys for their hard work and dedication. We are into the final and I’m happy for my boys. I have been a goalkeeper since I was small, so I was confident that I would stop that penalty from Dreketi.”

Lami will now face Rakiraki in the Senior Division final at 10am today.

In the other semi-final, Rakiraki also came through in similar fashion, edging out Bua 7–6 on penalties after another 2–2 draw.

Both matches provided thrilling finishes, showcasing the determination and fighting spirit of all teams as the FMF IDC 2025 heads into its final day.
