Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has confirmed that representatives from the Great Council of Chiefs (GCC) will soon travel to England for discussions with King Charles III.
Speaking at the opening of the Macuata Provincial Council meeting, Mr Rabuka said the visit follows the recent trip by President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu β to England, during which he held talks with the King.
βHe held talks with King Charles on certain issues,β Mr Rabuka said.
The Prime Minister encouraged traditional leaders to prepare agendas and discussion points ahead of the visit, noting that these could be raised by the GCC representatives during their meeting with the monarch.
Mr Rabuka said the upcoming dialogue would further strengthen the historic ties between Fiji and the British monarchy.
