FIJIFIRST party leader and Prime Minister Rear Admiral (Ret) Voreqe Bainimarama says there is no use in trying to bring back the Great Council of Chiefs.
Rear Admiral (Ret) Bainimarama informed Rewa villagers who had turned up at the Dreketi District School for its campaign on Wednesday night.
Ro Filipe Tuisawau, nephew of the Roko Tui Dreketi who is also SODELPA’s party leader Ro Teimumu Kepa, raised the issue of the GCC saying indigenous people needed a forum just like the GCC so that issues relating to iTaukei people were safeguarded.
Ro Filipe also requested the FijiFirst party leader to refrain from saying the GCC was heavily into politics saying not all members of the GCC were into politics.
