The National Federation Party (NFP) has always kept the faith and stayed the course.

Those were the words of Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) leader Viliame Gavoka while speaking at the party’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in Rakiraki last Saturday.

He said the NFP party was one which had “reached the highest mountains and also the deepest valleys”.

“But you have always kept the faith and you have always stayed the course — and it’s something that I would like to have ingrained into the political process and vision of the political parties,” he said.

He said the forgiving of the Tertiary Education and Loan Scheme loans by the Coalition Government showed how the policy of one party could be embraced by other parties in government.

“That is what I keep impressing upon our people, stay the course. ‘Our policies through our politics, will become the way of life in this country, a way of life that is accomplished through the political process of dialogue and agreeing to a common platform.

“If anything, I admired NFP and the politics that if you create, you continue to create an enabling environment where we can all aspire to what we believe in for our country. You are you are an example to us all in this country.”
