FIJI Football Association made a profit of $127,000 after deductions from the 2017 Vodafone Fiji FACT and the Inkk Battle of the Giants this year.
From the Fiji FACT the Fiji FA made a profit of $98,000 which was divided into two where fifty-per cent ($49,000) was kept by the Fiji FA while the remaining $49,000 were divided between the eight competing districts.
Fiji FA also made a profit in the 2017 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament where the association made a profit of $78,000 after all the expenses including the $3500 preparation grants given to the teams prior to the tournament and $1500 after the tournament.
Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said they had successful tournaments this year.
“We had a very successful Fiji FACT in Nausori despite the four weeks of delay,” he said.
“With all the stringent gate control and all the expenses were also controlled very well and as the result, the eight premier districts would share over $6000 as the district share.
“This is probably the biggest profit in the last 15 years.”
The BOG tournament was held at three different venues where the group matches were played at Subrail Park in Labasa and then the first semi-final between Rewa and Labasa was played at Ratu Cakobau Park in Rewa and then Lautoka’s Churchill Park hosted the second semi-final between Lautoka and Nadi and also the final.
“The profit made by Fiji FA would be used in the national team tours and the matches. We grossed little over $280,000 since the expenses were low and as the result, the profits go back to the districts,” he added.
The 2017 Courts Inter-District Championship will be held at Churchill Park in Lautoka next month.
