The 2024 Bic Southern Business House Futsal Soccer Cup is now entering its elimination round, which will be held on Monday at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva.
Tournament director Alan Kumar has noted that this year’s men’s category competition is competitive, with many teams having district representatives playing.
“The pool games were intense, and all teams came prepared, showing great competitiveness,” Kumar said.
“For the elimination round on Monday, the Ministry of Education, Pacific Customs Agencies Ltd, and DHL are among the favourites to qualify for the quarter-finals.
“The winners from the elimination matches will qualify for the cup, while the losers will move to the plate category.
“In the women’s competition, the team with the most points after the Round Robin games will be declared the winner.
“USP is a team to watch, as they are competing for the first time and are made up of university students.”
The competition has been made possible thanks to the support of sponsors BIC and Blue Gas.
About 1000 players and officials have had the opportunity to compete and eliminate non-communicable diseases.
The tournament’s theme is “say no to drugs and domestic violence” and the organisers are proud to advocate for this cause.
