It was a strong start for the Tailevu Naitasiri team as they defeating Rakiraki in the opening match of the Extra Futsal Inter-District Championship (IDC) 2025 held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva yesterday.

The team displayed a dominant performance, securing a 10-2 victory over their opponents.

The first half saw Tailevu Naitasiri taking control of the game, with goals from Vinayak Rao, Neeraj Sharma, Abhishek Deo, and Maciu Tuilau.

The team’s offensive prowess was on full display as they continued to extend their lead in the second half, with Deo scoring six more goals.

Head coach Shivneel Kumar expressed pride in his team’s performance.

“The first match is always an important game, so i’m proud of the boys performance with this win,” said Kumar.

He commended the players for their fighting spirit and acknowledged the areas, particularly in defense, that they need to work on.

Despite facing challenges in training due to the lack of a proper venue, the team remained focused on their goal.

Kumar lauded the support of their families and fans, attributing the team’s success to their unwavering encouragement.
