Fulton Adventist College has achieved a major milestone with provisional approval to operate as Fulton Adventist University.

The approval, granted by the Higher Education Commission Fiji (HEC) on October 3.

Fulton will operate under its new status for six months while the Fulton Adventist University Bill progresses through Parliament. The Commission will then review the university’s readiness for full recognition.

“Today we gather not merely to celebrate a new title, but to honour God and a legacy of dedication, resilience and unwavering commitment to education and service,” said Vice-Chancellor Dr Ronald Stone.

“Our commitment to providing a holistic education—nurturing mind, soul and spirit—remains steadfast.”

HEC Director Dr Eci Naisele congratulated the institution for meeting the stringent criteria for university status.

“Fulton was among the first institutions in Fiji to gain full registration and accreditation,” he said.

“Achieving university status is not easy, but your vision meets a genuine need in Fiji’s higher education landscape.”

Owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Fulton offers programs in theology, education and business, serving students from 11 Pacific nations.

The university will celebrate its 120th anniversary from November 26–29 with a reunion event for alumni and supporters.
