THE Fiji Sports Council (FSC) is gearing up to end the 2025 rugby 7s season in style with the Grassroots Fiji 7s, set for December 18–19 at the HFC Bank Stadium.
The tournament will showcase some of the country’s most promising rugby talent while offering substantial prize money across men’s, women’s, and U20 divisions.
The Council is targeting 24 men’s teams for the main draw, with the Cup winner taking home a whopping $10,000, while registration is set at $1000.
In the U20 Division, FSC is inviting 12 teams to compete, with the Cup winner set to earn $5000 for a registration fee of $500.
The Women’s Division will see players battling for a $3000 top prize, with registration at $300.
“This tournament is more than just a competition; it’s about nurturing grassroots rugby, giving players a platform to shine, and celebrating the game at all levels,” said FSC chief executive officer Gilbert Vakalalabure.
Adding even more excitement to the weekend, volleyball will also feature at the event, boasting what is expected to be the largest prize money package in the history of Fiji volleyball tournaments.
The December 18–19 tournament marks the launch of the FSC Grassroots Fiji 7s series, with the second leg scheduled for Bua on January 16–17, 2026.
More 7s tournaments are planned for next year, but all attention is firmly on the HFC Bank Stadium for this year’s finale.
With competitive teams, generous prizes, and a celebration of Fiji’s grassroots talent, the Grassroots Fiji 7s promises an action-packed weekend of rugby and volleyball that fans and players alike won’t want to miss.
