FIJI Rugby is turning its attention to the international stage after significant announcements about the Rugby Nations Cup and the upcoming World Cup cycle.
Acting CEO Koli Sewabu said the updates provide a clear starting point for long-term preparation.
“And then obviously the changes that happened within the Rugby Nations Cup, the announcement of the World Cup that happened a few days ago, looking forward to February 3 next year where they will announce the venues and then we’re going to start to work on plans and strategies leading up to some of these major competitions.”
He said once the venues are confirmed in February, Fiji Rugby will begin developing targeted preparation programmes for both tournaments.
Sewabu added that major competitions require strong alignment from domestic to international levels, and the new strategic plan will guide the build-up over the next few years.
He said the focus will be on strengthening pathways, developing technical structures, and ensuring Fiji Rugby is ready for a busy international calendar.
