The Fiji Rugby Union announced its partnership with a leading clothing-line company in Fiji to provide outfits for all domestic Fiji Rugby competitions for the entire year.

FRU administrator Simione Valenitabua said they were fortunate for the timely sponsorship from Jack’s of Fiji, especially during a time when the Rugby House was facing financial difficulties.

“We are so humbled by Jack’s of Fiji for their support in such a challenging time for FRU.

They have always produced top-quality apparel and to have them as the official supplier for our domestic rugby is fantastic,” he said.

As part of this sponsorship agreement, Jack’s of Fiji will provide FRU will match kits to six participating unions in all FRU domestic competitions.

This includes the Skipper Cup, Innk Farebrother Trophy Challenge, ANZ Marama Championship, Vodafone Vanua Championship, Royal Tea Ranadi Cup, Vodafone Deans Trophy, and the Fiji Primary School’s Competition.

“This timely sponsorship takes out a huge chunk of our expenses from our budget.

This is the budget for the Skipper Cup and the Vanua Championship. So, this will be of a huge help to us at the Rugby House,” Valenitabua said.

“FRU made a commitment to make sure the game is accessible for all Fijians and its companies like Jack’s of Fiji who is allowing us to keep that commitment by relieving the financial burden that uniform supply can bring.

“Through these types of sponsorships, we are able to give our players at grassroot level the confidence they need to play their hearts out.”

Nikul Khatri, one of the directors of Jack’s of Fiji, said the partnership aimed to enhance the overall experience of Fijian Rugby by ensuring the players look and feel their best while representing their respective clubs.

“It’s all about developing rugby at the grass root level. And we are more than happy to partner with FRU as their official apparel sponsor for all their domestic competitions,” he said.
