The Fiji Rugby Union is introducing changes to its domestic rugby competitions starting in August and September.

The Farebrother and Pio Bosco challenges will no longer be standalone events; instead, they’ll be integrated into the Skipper Cup and Marama Championship respectively.

Holders will defend these trophies during their regular season home games. Both the Skipper Cup and Marama Championship begin on August 2.

Additionally, the Ranadi and Vanua competitions, commencing on September 5, will adopt a shortened, rally-format schedule of three weeks to ease financial burdens on unions.

Teams will play multiple games within a single week before advancing to the knockout stages.

A two-week break is also planned in August for the Deans final and the FIJI Water Flying Fijians PNC match against Tonga.
