THINGS will get better.

This is the word from a hopeful and optimistic Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka as he reflected on the performance of the Government in its first 12 months in office.

In a candid and upfront interview with The Fiji Times’ online portal The Lens @177, he admitted the Coalition Government did not just coast through its first year, and that it took time for some Cabinet Ministers to settle.

He also admitted there were times Cabinet Ministers did not understand his views and that it has not been easy leading a coalition .

Overall, he said while the Coalition Government had a few knockdowns over the past year, it did not affect them as a team.

“As the great Mohammed Ali said, ‘winning is not about not being knocked down, it is about getting up after you have been knocked down’.

Mr Rabuka added he was satisfied with their achievements so far.

That’s the big news on the front page of The Fiji Times for Saturday,  December 23.
