Curfews, a tool embraced by many cities overseas to keep the young off the streets, is being proposed by Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Lynda Tabuya.
She said the proposal would ensure a child cannot be outside or be out in public beyond a certain hour without adult supervision.
The measure is designed to curb the exploitation and negligence of children.
The move will compel parents and families to take responsibility for their children “because it cannot only be the job of the police”, Ms Tabuya said.
