The criminal investigations department at the Totogo Police Station has been a crime scene for the past two days after an alleged case of “tampering” with methamphetamine kept in the office.
As a result of the incident, Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew issued a warning, stating any Police officer found to be “colluding or aiding those in the illicit drug trade will be removed as they don’t belong in this organization”.
That’s the big news on the front page of The Fiji Times for Wednesday, February 14.
In the second story on Page 1, Acting Police Commissioner Juki Fong Chew needs experienced, trained, and educated people around him.
This was the advice of former Assistant Police Commissioner Henry Brown who was removed from the Force in 2016.
Mr Brown said these experienced officers would be well informed and would be able to do their jobs effectively.
