From rugby field to the runway, Royston Craddock Steele will showcase another side of his talent when he will take part in the Wearing Fiji fashion parade tonight.

The Kulukulu, Sigatoka lad says joining his siblings in the fashion runaway is exciting.

“This weekend is extra special because my other siblings Mia-Kalani and Thomas will be walking for the first time as well,” he said.

He is 17 years old and attends Sigatoka Methodist College. He got drafted in to the Kaiviti Silktails elite development pathway (EDP) earlier this year.

“I got drafted into the Kaiviti Silktails EDP Squad when I took part in the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League Competition early this year playing up for our schools under-19 team.

“It was quite an exciting journey because we managed to make it to the national quarter finals especially for a young player like me.”

He grew up watching rugby with his dad and playing the sport with the bigger boys and other kids in the village ground.

“It has always been a very fun sport for me. “I played my first real rugby match in Year Nine in the Fiji Secondary Schools Deans representing Sigatoka Methodist College in the Under 15 grade.

“I gradually progressed learning along the way. “The first time I took part in modelling was for Samson Lee Fiji at Hilton Resort late last year.

“This year Phillipa, my sister, who introduced me to modelling and asked if I wanted to be the face of Wearing Fiji Show 2021.

“Wearing Fiji is a fashion project that advocates for fashion mentoring and education in our country.

“My advice to all young Fijians, you’re never too young to dream — keep chasing your dreams and never give up.”
