Update: 4:28PM The Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority (FRCA) today signed a memorandum of understanding with Home Finance Company (HFC) Limited providing an online platform service for paying custom duties and charges at HFC branches.
In a joint
statement, HFC CEO Isikeli
Tikoduadua says the platform will initially roll out in
Suva and will progressively be introduced at other ports making it convenient
for customers who can now make payments online at any time.
“This
becomes a convenient payment mode especially after banking hours. With our
partnership customers can now pay customs duty at any of our Suva branches
during business hours or via our secure Internet Banking platform which is
available 24 hours.
“Through
our internet banking platform customers can make customs payment at their
convenience and will be sure that customs duty is updated in real time at FRCA
and they are able to clear the goods.”
FRCA CEO
Jitoko Tikolevu says the service facilitates the
electronic payment service as well as manual deposits made at HFC branches for
customs transactions.
“Under the
MOU FRCA will ensure the timely clearance of consignments once they received confirmation from the bank.”
