Swire Shipping Fijian Drua scrumhalf Frank Lomani wants to bring his “A” game’ to the ground, every time he puts the boots on.
Lomani was in outstanding form setting up a try and scoring one himself in the 20-10 win over the Crusaders in round three of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific clash at Churchill Park in Lautoka last Saturday.
His performance saw him getting the Player of the Match award as well. While he credited the entire team for their support, he has his personal aims.
“My personal goal is to bring my ‘A’ game every week, not only here on game day but in every training session during the week,” he said.
“We talked about just working as a team and just bringing put A game. I think for us, Masi (Iosefo), Stino (Selestino Ravutaumada), they started that so that’s how we managed to score the points.”
Facing the defending champions is never easy but they got through with their willingness to defend their territory.
“I think playing the Crusaders here for the first-time last year was good. We got the win, defending our field, our territory is more challenging than winning it for the first time. This time we talked about getting our first win because we lost the first two games likewise the Crusaders but, getting here and winning is pretty special.”
The Drua are on the road again this week as they face the Chiefs in Hamilton at 6.30pm on Saturday.
