A significant road drop-out has occurred along Queens Road near Semo Village, resulting in the collapse of part of the carriageway and rendering the route impassable to traffic in both directions, the Fiji Roads Authority has said.
In a statement, the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) confirmed that the damage has completely cut off access through the affected section.
The authority said a full assessment of the site will be carried out once floodwaters in the area have receded.
In the meantime, motorists are strongly advised to avoid the area until further notice. FRA teams are working to establish a temporary detour to restore access as quickly as possible.
Drivers are urged to exercise caution and comply with all traffic advisories while repair and recovery efforts are underway.
