EXISTING underground utilities and adverse weather conditions are challenges the Fiji Roads Authority is facing in its quest to complete roadworks at Nasese, Suva.
FRA acting chief executive officer Sonal Goundar said the roadworks should be completed by October.
An earlier report The Fiji Times noted the Fiji Roads Authority had proposed to upgrade approximately 2.9km of Queen Elizabeth Drive along Nasese in 2019.
The project was part of the Queen Elizabeth Drive (QED) Road Widening Project.
Road works were carried out in three stages and areas.
Stage One: From Ratu Sukuna Rd to Vuya Rd including Nasese Bridge (1.67km)
Stage Two: From Vuya Rd to Muanikau Rd (1.35km)
Stage Three: From Muanikau Rd to Laucala Bay Rd extending 200m of Fletcher Rd (1.34km)
