Four new inclusions into the Rewa football men’s team will provide the dynamic spark needed to ignite the team’s flare when they face Labasa for the Pillay Garments Champion v Champions tournament, which kicks off this weekend at Subrail Park.
Rewa head coach Roderick Singh says these players were Gabriele Matanisiga, Kavaia Raiwaqa, Bruce Hughes and Mosese Nabose.
Singh explained their inclusion into the Delta side, as the clash against their Babasiga opponents would kick off this year’s football calendar.
“We had brought in the reinforcements especially at the back with Gabriele Matanisiga, we got Kaiava Rawaqa who is going to be really helpful for us at the left side of the back line,” Singh revealed.
“We have Bruce Hughes (and) he is no stranger to Rewa. He started his football career with Rewa, so he’s back to help his home team and give a lot of strikers competition.
“We are bringing Mosese Nabose who also started his career with Rewa football so he is back, trying to do his best so that he can see his home side do well in the CVC.”
The four players have entered the team through the Fiji Football Association’s pre-season transfer window, as Singh shared how their addition to the team was a boost in their preparation.
“I think with the inclusion of (new) players, we are turning about the team preparation and seeing where the new inclusions fit and how the team is responding with the new inclusion,” he said.
Rewa has also been boosted with the timely arrival of Solomon Islands striker John Orobula who got into the country yesterday, ahead of the clash.
Saturday’s match will kick off at 1.30pm.
