Four members of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will feature for Nadi today as the side defends the Farebrother Trophy against Lautoka at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

This was confirmed by Nadi’s team manager Epeli Qoro, who said the players’ addition to the side had boosted morale ahead of the clash.

“We have four Drua players in the team – Meli Tuni, Tuidraki Samusamuvodre, Livai Natave and Sailosi Vukalokalo,” Qoro said.

“Having the boys in the team has boosted the boys’ morale and we can see the impact they have on the team especially during training.

“Having these players of high calibre will also be beneficial for the team when we face Lautoka tomorrow (today).”

Lautoka will also be armoured with Drua players in Isikeli Rabitu, Taniela Ramasibana and Freddy Ralulu.

Qoro said the had been working on their discipline throughout the week, which was an area of concern following their loss to Naitasiri in the Skipper Cup last weekend.

He said they were expecting a tough battle against Lautoka, as the two sides last met in the Farebrother Trophy competition in 2020.

“We are aware of what’s at stake here, and the boys are raring to get on the field. We respect Lautoka, and we will do all our talking on the field tomorrow.”

Fans and supporters of Nadi are being encouraged by Qoro to come out in numbers, and the side will battle it out to defend their trophy.

Nadi edged Nadroga 20-19 at Lawaqa Park last year to snatch the trophy from the traditional champions.

The Jetsetters go into today’s match as favourites but are aware of the threat their neighbour’s will bring.

The match kicks off at 3pm.
