Update: 12:35PM FORMER diplomat and political leader Adi Laufitu Ekari Salabogi Malani has died.
She passed away peacefully at the CWM hospital in Suva last Thursday.
A statement by the Malani family stated that in keeping with her final wishes, there would be no traditional reguregu.
The funeral gathering will commence this Thursday at her residence at 281 Ratu Sukuna Road.
The funeral cortege will leave her residence on Friday September 1 for the thanksgiving service at the Christian Mission Fellowship (CMF) in Kinoya before the cortege proceeds to the Nausori cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
A doctor by profession, Adi Laufitu served as a Senator from June to December 2006 and is the daughter of Ratu Meli Salabogi Malani, the late Turaga na Gonesau of Ra.
Adi Laufitu was the PA to the Opposition Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa from 2014 to early this year when she resigned for health reasons.
She is survived by her two daughters Adi Titilia Maramanikaibau Malani Tikoca and Adi Asinate Senirewa Tikoca.
