FORMER Fijiana rugby player and current Fiji Rugby Union director Lailanie Burnes has extended her well wishes to the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team as the HSBC Dubai 7s gets underway tomorrow.

Burnes acknowledged the level of preparation being put in by the Fijiana 7s squad and shared her belief in the notion that their training had provided them with the tools to make a difference in Dubai.

“I know they’ve definitely been working behind the scenes, very, very hard,” Burnes highlighted. “And I believe that the processes, the training has given them what they need to be able to be very impactful when they head out into Dubai.”

The Fijiana are grouped in Pool A with New Zealand, the United States and France. At first glance, the pool is an assembly of equally formidable teams and with unique company to keep the Fijiana on their toes against, Burnes is enthusiastic of what they will unleash in Dubai.

“I’m looking forward to what they’re going to be able to achieve and we’re supporting again all the way our Fijiana 7s and also the Fiji men’s 7s team.”

Burnes was the former captain of the Fijiana XV and besides her rugby career, also has a extensive background in marketing, media, communications and hospitality management.
