A one-week Forensic Interactive meeting aimed at enhancing service delivery within the Fiji Police Force’s Forensic Science Services Unit (FSSU) commenced yesterday (18/03/24) at the Eastern Division Training Room in Nakasi.
The meeting was officially opened by Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police (A/DCP) Sakeo Raikaci and was attended by Divisional Crime Officers and officers specializing in Pathology, Crime Scene Investigations (CSI), Forensics, Biology, Chemistry, and Fingerprint analysis within the FSSU.
A/DCP Raikaci stressed the importance of regular meetings among leaders and middle managers to address challenges and devise effective solutions for improved service delivery. Recognizing the FSSU’s integral role in investigations and policing, ongoing dialogue on best practices was deemed crucial given the evolving criminal landscape.
The Acting Deputy Commissioner also expressed gratitude to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution and the Australian Federal Police for their participation, enriching the ongoing efforts of the FSSU with valuable insights.
Scheduled to conclude this Friday, the meeting at the Nakasi Police Station’s Eastern Division Training Room served as a platform for collaboration and strategic planning to enhance forensic services within the Fiji Police Force.
